ENCROACHMENT PERMIT INFORMATION


RETURN TO BUILDING DEPARTMENT

Encroachment permits are required for all work done in the street right of way. The Street right of way is approximately 8 feet back of the curb or the edge of the pavement where there are no curbs. If you have a question please contact the Street Department.

There is no charge for an encroachment permit.

The application may be obtained at City Hall or it may be downloaded from the City of Alturas web site.

Fill in all the information requested on the application and attach a plan showing what you desire to do and return to the City Hall.

The Street Department will review the application and issue the permit and the requirements for the work within 14 days of receipt of the application.
