The City of Alturas is a member of a risk sharing pool that is comprised of cities and towns located throughout California. The name of the pool is Public Agency Risk Sharing Authority of California (PARSAC). The City of Alturas has been a member of PARSAC since 1986. The City participates in the following self-funded group purchase programs; General Liability, Employment Practices, Worker's Compensation and Property Insurance. Risk Management co-ordinates training for the City and manages other programs to reduce potential liabilities and develops policies for City Council approval.
